One question is, if Kernite becomes the new darling and gets mined a lot more, what does that do to the other low-end minerals?īut it's very true that in general, the high-end ores stay within about 30-40% of each other. That's getting really, really speculative though, so to be safe, we'll say 125-190 is where it lands, most likely the upper range.Įither that or I'm spinning a huge line of bull****. I mean, they already only have to touch their mackinaws once every half hour, asking them to be active enough to fly to other systems seems like a stretch. So, maybe it goes higher, just because people can't be assed to move. Of course, by 190 Kernite is worth 20% more than any other highsec ore, so maybe it doesn't get there.īut then again, Kernite is limited to 0.6 (or perhaps 0.7, I'm not 100% sure) and below, Amarr space only. Omber doesn't match Veldspar until 165, and doesn't pull even with the rest of the non-Kernite ores until 190. And in real terms, they only collectively yield 10% as much Isogen as Kernite does anyway, so even when Nocx hits 1400 and nullsec miners scramble to strip all the H&H they can find, they won't really be significant contributors to supply.Īll else equal, Kernite becomes the top dog in highsec when Isogen hits about 125/unit.which means it already has become top dog, if only by a slender margin. But, they're both triple the volume of Omber, and so really yield roughly 20% and 65% of the isogen per hour that Kernite can. Hemorphite has some and Hedbergite as a ton, twice as much per refine. So, half the potential isogen bearing ore is undermined, because it's **** Now, Gneiss has an equivalent amount of isogen, but if Omber is **** then Gneiss is like bloody runs, so no one gives it a second look. The only reason it gets mined is people don't know any better, or they're selling it to mission runners for Materials for War Preparation. Like, it's worth less than 70% of the isk/hr of the top valued highsec ores bad. Unfortunately for its attempts to remain at a reasonable price, one of the primary isogen ores - Omber, as has been stated - is bad. Like all other low ends, tons of it came from the drone regions, a source which is now gone. I mean, what isn't, but its almost a special case. "It's thing", the "why", is that it's badly undersupplied. Since that we've just let its do its thing. The other ores will not be equally as profitable until you have max skills and fleet bonus."What happened to isogen" is that I bought the fresh stacks below a 540 million unit zombie order, then said "hey guys we should buy isogen and here's why" and another cabal member took a big bite, and then before we could tip off regular goons to it, someone else finished it off. Mining for Isk you time is best spent mining Veld and scordite with the set up you mentioned. this has the added benefit of yielding the more expensive minerals as well. and yes I have all TII crystals in my hulk and max refining. I get more trit per hour from omber, pyroxers and Plag than I do veld. The math on the surface may not support Veld but as you mine more units per weight it seems a likely choice. Personally I use fleet boosts with an orca and mine the entire belt of all ore and refine it at a station where I have 0 take. In using average skills and devoid of fleet boost with the equipment mentioned you will be better off mining kernite in Hi sec than Jaspet in low. Reliant on station refine %, Tax rate (standings affect this) and your refining skills. You also have to consider you refine ability. Veldspar has more units per m3 than Kernite witch has more units per m3 than jaspet. This is dependent on skill, equipment used, and weight of the ore. M3 per cycle and cycles per minute will give you the base yield Isk per hour is dependent on several variables. Oh, and don't forget to add into your equations, that in high sec, using an orca booster/hauler will enhance your mining abilities by being able to mine more and haul less, as well as the orca bonusses( and less risk for the orca pilot, so he can use his mining foreman mindlink for another extra 5% yield :) )ĭefining the issue in the only way to find the answers. ( you need 8000 kernite for the mission ) You know you got a missioner buying your ore when you see them buying in multiples of 8000. ( like 200% of what the minerals are worth ridiculous )) I've made quite a bit of money in gallente space by mining kernite in grav sites and selling it in storyline mission stations at ridiculous prices. Selling it as ore in storyline hubs is a good way of making a little more money than the minerals are worth, if you got the haulage to move it as such instead of refining it. What the person that mentioned moving the kernite as ore was talking about is that Kernite(regular) is also used for a level 4 storyline mission (Materials for war preparation).
